Who were the Iroquois?
The Iroquois Indians or "People Of The Longhouse" later known as the Iroquois Confederacy, is believed to have been founded at an unknown date estimated between 1450 and 1660, bringing together five nations in the Great Lakes area. Each nation within this Iroquoian confederacy had it's own location, language, and function in the League.
The League is controlled by a governing body called the Grand Council which had 50 CHIEFS!!! Once a chief, always a chief!!!
